Taco Bell Is Selling Kevin Hart’s Usual for $4. The Label Says 11 Grams of Fiber.

Through Monday, Taco Bell is selling Kevin Hart’s usual order, a Beef Burrito Supreme, a Crunchy Taco and a medium fountain drink, for $4, with Paris Hilton’s and Doja Cat’s orders to follow on the next two Tuesdays. We read Taco Bell’s own nutrition labels for all three: Hart’s is 560 calories before the drink and carries 11 grams of fiber, more than a third of a day’s worth, almost all of it from the refried beans. Hilton’s and Doja Cat’s are read below ahead of their drops, along with the three reasons Taco Bell sends people to the bathroom.

The short answer

Taco Bell's National Taco Month campaign, announced October 13, 2026, puts three celebrities' usual orders on the menu for $4 for one week each: Kevin Hart's (Beef Burrito Supreme, Crunchy Taco, medium fountain drink) October 13 to 19, Paris Hilton's (Diablo Ranch Crispy Chicken Crunchwrap Slider, Crunchy Taco, medium fountain drink) October 20 to 26, and Doja Cat's (Mexican Pizza, Spicy Potato Soft Taco) October 27 to November 2, with the first 10,000 Rewards members to claim in the app at 2 p.m. Pacific on each launch Tuesday getting that week's bundle for $1. By Taco Bell's own Nutrition Facts labels, read October 17, the food in Hart's order adds up to 560 calories, 11 g of fiber, 1,470 mg of sodium, 4 g of sugar and 23 g of protein; Hilton's to 490 calories, 6 g of fiber, 1,170 mg of sodium, 2 g of sugar and 23 g of protein; Doja Cat's to 770 calories, 10 g of fiber, 1,470 mg of sodium, 4 g of sugar and 24 g of protein, our arithmetic. A medium Pepsi adds 250 calories and 69 g of sugar; a medium Pepsi Zero Sugar adds none. Two of the three orders are built on refried pinto beans, which is where the fiber comes from. Why Taco Bell can send people to the bathroom, by the trials: any large meal, especially a fatty one, sets the colon moving within minutes; bean sugars that human enzymes cannot digest ferment into gas, which under half of people notice in week one and far fewer by week four; and capsaicin lowers the pressure at which the rectum signals urgency without speeding transit. Nothing here describes any of the three people's bodies or diets. Educational, not medical advice.

Kevin Hart’s Taco Bell order is a Beef Burrito Supreme, a Crunchy Taco and a medium fountain drink. Through Monday it costs $4, and on Tuesday afternoon 10,000 people got it for a dollar by tapping a button in an app at exactly 2 p.m. Pacific. Next Tuesday the menu board switches to Paris Hilton’s order, and the Tuesday after that to Doja Cat’s, each for a week, each for $4, each with its own one-day dollar drop. Taco Bell announced the whole month on October 13 with the orders, the dates and a page of fine print, and not a word about what is in them. So we read the labels. Taco Bell publishes a full Nutrition Facts panel for every item on its site, and the three usuals, laid side by side, tell a story the campaign does not: where the fiber is, where the sodium is, and why the question people type about Taco Bell more than any other, which is not about calories at all, has three answers in the published trials.

This is a living page. Hart’s week is read in full below. Hilton’s and Doja Cat’s are read from the items Taco Bell has announced and the labels those items carry today, and each gets a dated note at the top of this page when its drop goes live. Nothing here is about any of the three people’s bodies, diets or health. The orders are Taco Bell’s, the numbers are Taco Bell’s, and the science is about what beans, chili and a big meal do in anyone.

Three Taco Bell usuals and the gut, one line each

The campaign: announced October 13, 2026. Kevin Hart’s usual (Beef Burrito Supreme, Crunchy Taco, medium fountain drink) is $4 through October 19; Paris Hilton’s (Diablo Ranch Crispy Chicken Crunchwrap Slider, Crunchy Taco, medium fountain drink) runs October 20 to 26; Doja Cat’s (Mexican Pizza, Spicy Potato Soft Taco) runs October 27 to November 2. The first 10,000 Rewards members to claim in the app at 2 p.m. Pacific on each launch Tuesday get that week’s bundle for $1.

Hart’s usual, by Taco Bell’s labels: 560 calories, 11 g of fiber, 1,470 mg of sodium, 4 g of sugar and 23 g of protein before the drink. A medium Pepsi adds 250 calories and 69 g of sugar; a medium Pepsi Zero Sugar adds none.

Hilton’s usual (from October 20): 490 calories, 6 g of fiber, 1,170 mg of sodium, 2 g of sugar and 23 g of protein before the drink. The lightest of the three.

Doja Cat’s usual (from October 27): 770 calories, 10 g of fiber, 1,470 mg of sodium, 4 g of sugar and 24 g of protein. No drink in the bundle.

The fiber: two of the three orders are built on seasoned refried beans, which are pinto beans. The Burrito Supreme and the Mexican Pizza carry 8 g of fiber each, 29 percent of the FDA’s Daily Value apiece.

The sodium: Hart’s and Doja Cat’s orders land on the same figure, 1,470 mg, 64 percent of the 2,300 mg Daily Value, before any drink.

The question: any large meal wakes the colon within minutes, strongest after fat; the sugars in beans that human enzymes cannot break down ferment into gas, for under half of people in week one and far fewer by week four; capsaicin lowers the pressure at which the rectum signals urgency without speeding transit, by the trials.

The campaign: Three usuals, three Tuesdays and a $1 bundle for the first 10,000 in the app

The release went out from Irvine on October 13. Having taken National Taco Day global with Duolingo a week earlier, complete with a Duo Habanero Sauce and “a week-long Duo’s Usual offer,” Taco Bell said it was “revealing the personal go-to orders of Kevin Hart, Paris Hilton and Doja Cat and bringing them to fans nationwide as limited-time $4 offers.” Each usual is on the menu for one week. On each launch Tuesday, the first 10,000 verified Rewards members who tap “Claim Reward” in the Taco Bell app from 2 p.m. Pacific get that week’s bundle for $1 plus tax, redeemable only in the app at participating U.S. locations until 11:59 p.m. Pacific that day, one per user, with the reward landing under the app’s Rewards tab “within approximately 10 minutes.” The $4 price runs through November 2 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific, while supplies last, and the fine print is worth one line: “Price is for base build, substitutions may incur an upcharge,” and drinks exclude freezes and specialty beverages.

The release describes each order in Taco Bell’s voice and quotes none of the three people, so we print the brand’s words and none of theirs. Hart’s usual, as he “prepares for the Live Más Open,” “keeps it classic and no-nonsense”: “a classic Taco Bell lineup built around two longtime staples that hit every time.” Hilton’s, the release says, draws on “her longtime love of the Volcano Menu” and on “making Taco Bell a part of her signature Y2K lore,” and is “a polished-but-playful order that feels indulgent without overcomplicating things.” Doja Cat’s is anchored by the Mexican Pizza because, in Taco Bell’s telling, after “single handedly bringing back the original Mexican Pizza” in 2022, “it only makes sense that Doja’s longtime favorite” anchors her usual. The weeks: Hart October 13 to 19, Hilton October 20 to 26, Doja Cat October 27 to November 2.

The same week brought a dessert. The Milk Bar Birthday Cake Empanada, announced October 8 and on menus nationwide from October 15 at $3.49 for a limited time, folds “cake batter-flavored filling, pink frosting and rainbow sprinkles” into a fried Taco Bell empanada; it is the third Milk Bar collaboration, after the Strawberry Bell Truffles of 2022 and the Birthday Cake Churros of 2025. Rewards members with a birthday on their profile can choose it, or a regular Baja Blast Freeze, as a free birthday reward from October 15 to 28. “The best part is you don’t need a birthday to enjoy it,” Milk Bar’s founder, Christina Tosi, says in the release. Its label is in the table further down, because its numbers belong next to the usuals: 290 calories and 23 g of sugar, 22 of them added.

Kevin Hart’s usual: A Burrito Supreme, a Crunchy Taco and a drink: 560 calories and 11 grams of fiber

Start with the burrito, because the burrito is the story. Taco Bell’s label for the Beef Burrito Supreme reads 390 calories, 14 g of fat (6 g saturated), 1,160 mg of sodium, 52 g of carbohydrate, 8 g of dietary fiber, 4 g of sugars (2 g added) and 16 g of protein, and its ingredient statement runs flour tortilla, seasoned beef, seasoned refried beans, red sauce, iceberg lettuce, reduced-fat sour cream, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, onions. The beans are pinto beans, cooked in soybean oil with a seasoning of salt, sugar and spice, and they are where most of the fiber lives: 8 g is 29 percent of the FDA’s Daily Value of 28 g in one hand. The Crunchy Taco is 170 calories, 9 g of fat (4 g saturated), 310 mg of sodium, 13 g of carbohydrate, 3 g of fiber, 0 g of sugars and 7 g of protein, in a shell of ground corn, vegetable oil and oat fiber.

Taco Bell’s own Nutrition Facts labels, read October 17, 2026; totals are our arithmetic. Sugars: 4 g for the food (2 g added), 69 g in the Pepsi. Protein: 23 g. A medium Pepsi Zero Sugar is 0 calories on Taco Bell’s page.

Add them up, our arithmetic, and Hart’s food is 560 calories, 23 g of fat (10 g saturated), 1,470 mg of sodium, 65 g of carbohydrate, 11 g of fiber, 4 g of sugars and 23 g of protein. Eleven grams of fiber is 39 percent of the Daily Value, more than a third of a day in one $4 order, and more than the Mexican Pizza manages on its own. The sodium is 64 percent of the 2,300 mg Daily Value before a sip of anything. The drink is the swing. Taco Bell’s page prices a medium Pepsi at 250 calories, and the label behind it, for 20 fluid ounces, reads 69 g of sugars, all of them added, 138 percent of the Daily Value for added sugars on Taco Bell’s own line. A medium Pepsi Zero Sugar is 0 calories on the same site. So the usual is 560 calories and 4 g of sugar, or 810 calories and 73 g of sugar, and the difference is which button you press at the fountain.

Two of the three usuals are built on refried pinto beans. That is where the fiber comes from. It is also where the gas comes from, for under half of people, for about a week.

Paris Hilton’s usual: From October 20: the lightest of the three at 490 calories, with the ranch carrying the heat

This section is written from the items in Taco Bell’s October 13 release and the labels those items carry today; it gets a dated note at the top of the page when the order goes live on Tuesday, October 20, at 2 p.m. Pacific. The Diablo Ranch Crispy Chicken Crunchwrap Slider is 320 calories, 13 g of fat (3.5 g saturated), 860 mg of sodium, 35 g of carbohydrate, 3 g of fiber, 2 g of sugars and 16 g of protein: crispy chicken nuggets, which the ingredient statement describes as chicken breast chunks with rib meat breaded with tortilla chips, in a flour tortilla with pico de gallo, a three-cheese blend and Hidden Valley Ranch Diablo Ranch Sauce, a buttermilk ranch whose heat comes, by the same statement, from red jalapeño peppers and spices. Taco Bell publishes no heat figure for it. With the Crunchy Taco the food comes to 490 calories, 22 g of fat (7.5 g saturated), 1,170 mg of sodium, 48 g of carbohydrate, 6 g of fiber, 2 g of sugars and 23 g of protein, our arithmetic: the fewest calories and the least sodium of the three, and, with no beans anywhere in it, the least fiber. The same medium Pepsi takes it to 740 calories and 71 g of sugar.

Doja Cat’s usual: From October 27: a Mexican Pizza and a Spicy Potato Soft Taco, 770 calories, no drink

Also pre-read, to be confirmed in a dated note on Tuesday, October 27. The Mexican Pizza is the heaviest single item in the campaign: 530 calories, 27 g of fat (8 g saturated), 1,000 mg of sodium, 51 g of carbohydrate, 8 g of fiber, 3 g of sugars and 19 g of protein, built from two shells the statement says are “prepared in canola oil,” seasoned beef, the same seasoned refried pinto beans as the burrito, a three-cheese blend, a sauce of diced tomatoes and diced green chilies, and fresh tomatoes. The Spicy Potato Soft Taco is 240 calories, 11 g of fat (3 g saturated), 470 mg of sodium, 28 g of carbohydrate, 2 g of fiber, 1 g of sugars and 5 g of protein: fried potato bites, lettuce and cheddar in a flour tortilla under a Creamy Chipotle Sauce whose statement lists chili peppers and chipotle peppers behind the oil, vinegar and egg yolk. Together, our arithmetic, 770 calories, 38 g of fat (11 g saturated), 1,470 mg of sodium, 79 g of carbohydrate, 10 g of fiber, 4 g of sugars and 24 g of protein. It is the largest of the three orders by calories and fat, the only one with no drink in the bundle, and, because there is no cup, the one whose sugar stays at 4 g however you order it. Its sodium matches Hart’s to the milligram.

The question: Why does Taco Bell make you poop? Three mechanisms, by the trials

Type the chain’s name into a search box and the question autocomplete finishes most often is not about calories. It is why Taco Bell makes you poop, with ten endings: so much, immediately, so fast, so bad, always. The honest first answer is that any big meal does. The colon starts moving within minutes of food arriving in the stomach and keeps at it for 30 to 120 minutes, a 2026 review in the Journal of Smooth Muscle Research says of what physiologists call the gastrocolonic response, and “fat must be an important component” of the meal that sets it off. That has been measured in people for decades: in a 1979 study, a standard meal or its fat alone produced “a rapid increase” in electrical activity in the lower colon that returned to fasting levels after 50 minutes, with a second rise 70 minutes after the fat; a 1983 study from the same group called fat “the major stimulant of the gastrocolonic response” and found the colon still busier than baseline 90 minutes after a fat meal. Doja Cat’s order carries 38 g of fat, Hart’s 23 g and Hilton’s 22 g. The reflex does not care whose name is on the menu board; it is the same one coffee borrows in the morning.

The second answer is the beans, and it is the one with the best numbers. Pinto beans carry oligosaccharides, raffinose and stachyose among them, that human digestive enzymes cannot break down, so they reach the colon intact and bacteria ferment them into hydrogen, carbon dioxide and methane. How that feels was tracked in three feeding studies at Arizona State University, published in 2011, in which adults ate half a cup of beans every day for 8 or 12 weeks and filled in the same weekly questionnaire. Fewer than half reported more gas with pinto or baked beans in the first week, 19 percent with black-eyed peas, and 3 to 11 percent reported more gas on the control diets of canned carrots or soup, which had nothing in them to ferment. Then it faded. In the crossover trials the reports fell to one or two participants by weeks 3 to 8; with baked beans the share was 29 percent at week 3 and 11 percent at week 4; in the 12-week pinto study it went from 45 percent in week one to 15 to 23 percent by weeks 6 to 12. Only 10 percent reported going more often in week one. The authors’ conclusion was that “people’s concerns about excessive flatulence from eating beans may be exaggerated,” with the caveat that responses differ by person and by bean. What the beans do to the bacteria themselves is less settled: a 2020 systematic review found only five human studies on pulses and the gut microbiota, and called their results inconsistent. We read the two-cups-a-day bean trend in September; a Burrito Supreme is a smaller dose of the same idea.

Capsaicin does not speed the gut up, by the trials. It lowers the pressure at which the rectum says now.

The third answer is the chili, and the trials are more interesting than the folklore. Capsaicin works on a receptor called TRPV1 that sits on sensory nerves along the whole gut, the receptor a 2004 review describes as going “from a tasty receptor for a painful vanilloid to a key player in hyperalgesia.” In a 2007 trial in Bangkok, 18 healthy volunteers ate 5 g of chili a day for three days and then had a balloon inflated in the rectum: the pressures at which they reported first, moderate and severe urgency fell to 18, 24 and 38 mmHg, from 22, 31 and 45 on placebo. The bar moved. The belt did not: in a 2002 study in Mumbai, 10 g of red chilli powder, about 14 mg of capsaicin, “did not alter” small-bowel or colonic transit in 21 healthy men or 29 men with irritable bowel syndrome, though the healthy men went from a median of one bowel movement a day to two. On the stomach the two human trials disagree: 400 micrograms of capsaicin put straight into the stomachs of 10 healthy people sped emptying, the time to the peak of the emptying curve halving from 150 to 75 minutes, while a Tabasco suspension infused into the esophagus of seven volunteers slowed it, from a half-time of 43 minutes to 67, without changing the time food took to reach the colon, which the authors read as faster passage through the small bowel. Taco Bell does not publish a capsaicin figure for its Creamy Chipotle Sauce, its Diablo Ranch or the chili pepper in its seasoned beef, so no one can say where an order sits against those doses; we worked through the one chain whose heat has been measured this month and the wing-night version in September. The mechanism is sensation more than speed.

The everyday version: What a weekly usual does: the gas fades, the fiber counts and the sodium adds up

Put the three mechanisms back on the tray. A Burrito Supreme is a fat-and-bean meal with a little chili in it, which is to say it pulls all three levers at once, and that is the whole answer to the autocomplete. The bean lever is the one that changes with habit: in the Arizona feeding studies the first-week gas had largely gone by week four for most people, and the paper notes that Americans eat about 7.2 pounds of beans a year against up to 110 pounds a head in parts of Eastern and Southern Africa, where nobody writes articles about it. The fiber lever is the one worth counting. Hart’s order is 11 g, Doja Cat’s 10 g and Hilton’s 6 g against a Daily Value of 28 g, and the burrito alone, at 8 g, out-fibers every other item in the campaign; our fiber calculator will tell you what the rest of a day needs to look like around it. The sodium lever has no habit to adapt to: 1,470 mg in Hart’s or Doja Cat’s order is 64 percent of the 2,300 mg Daily Value in one sitting, which is simply what two items with refried beans, seasoned beef and cheese add up to, and the line Taco Bell prints under every label, that 2,000 calories a day is used for general nutrition advice, is the scale to read it on.

The one choice that moves the sugar line is the cup. Taco Bell’s own numbers put a medium Pepsi at 250 calories and 69 g of sugar and a medium Pepsi Zero Sugar at 0, so Hart’s and Hilton’s usuals are either 4 g and 2 g of sugar or 73 g and 71 g, by one tap. Doja Cat’s has no cup to tap. The campaign’s sweetest item is the one built to be: the Milk Bar empanada’s 23 g of sugar, 22 of them added, is 44 percent of the Daily Value for added sugars, with under a gram of fiber, which is a dessert doing its job on a label that says so. In two weeks the question will be candy; our Halloween ranking by fiber is the reading for that one.

Who paid whom: the usuals are Taco Bell’s own campaign and Kevin Hart, Paris Hilton and Doja Cat appear in it as Taco Bell’s partners; the release does not describe the terms and we do not guess. Hidden Valley Ranch, Milk Bar and Pepsi are the brands named on Taco Bell’s own pages, and Duolingo was its National Taco Day partner. The nutrition figures are Taco Bell’s, served through its Nutritionix-powered calculator. The bean studies were conducted at Arizona State University; the pulse review’s first author works at Pulse Canada, a growers’ group, which the paper states. Gut Health Times has no relationship with Taco Bell, Yum! Brands, Milk Bar, PepsiCo, Hidden Valley Ranch, Duolingo, Nutritionix, any of the three people named or any study author, and received nothing for this article.

Facts to carry: Taco Bell’s National Taco Month campaign, announced October 13, 2026, sells Kevin Hart’s usual (Beef Burrito Supreme, Crunchy Taco, medium fountain drink) for $4 through October 19, Paris Hilton’s (Diablo Ranch Crispy Chicken Crunchwrap Slider, Crunchy Taco, medium fountain drink) from October 20 to 26 and Doja Cat’s (Mexican Pizza, Spicy Potato Soft Taco) from October 27 to November 2, with a $1 bundle for the first 10,000 Rewards members to claim in the app at 2 p.m. Pacific on each launch Tuesday. By Taco Bell’s own labels, read October 17, the food in Hart’s order is 560 calories, 11 g of fiber, 1,470 mg of sodium, 4 g of sugar and 23 g of protein; Hilton’s is 490 calories, 6 g of fiber, 1,170 mg of sodium, 2 g of sugar and 23 g of protein; Doja Cat’s is 770 calories, 10 g of fiber, 1,470 mg of sodium, 4 g of sugar and 24 g of protein; a medium Pepsi adds 250 calories and 69 g of sugar and a medium Pepsi Zero Sugar adds none; the Milk Bar Birthday Cake Empanada ($3.49, from October 15) is 290 calories with 23 g of sugar. The fiber comes from the refried pinto beans in the Burrito Supreme and the Mexican Pizza, 8 g each. Any large meal, and especially a fatty one, sets the colon moving within minutes; bean oligosaccharides ferment into gas that under half of people notice in week one and far fewer by week four; capsaicin lowers the rectum’s urgency threshold without changing transit time, in the published trials. All totals are our arithmetic from Taco Bell’s labels. Nothing here describes any of the three people’s bodies, diets or health. The article is educational, describes what the cited pages and studies say, and is not medical advice.

Frequently Asked

Answer-engine ready
What is in Kevin Hart's Taco Bell meal, and how many calories is it?
Kevin Hart's usual is a Beef Burrito Supreme, a Crunchy Taco and a medium fountain drink, sold for $4 nationwide from October 13 to 19, 2026, by Taco Bell's October 13 release. By Taco Bell's own Nutrition Facts labels, read October 17, the Burrito Supreme is 390 calories and the Crunchy Taco is 170, so the food is 560 calories, with 23 g of fat, 65 g of carbohydrate and 23 g of protein, our arithmetic. The drink is the variable: Taco Bell's page lists a medium Pepsi at 250 calories, which takes the order to 810, and a medium Pepsi Zero Sugar at 0, which leaves it at 560.
How much fiber and sodium are in Kevin Hart's Taco Bell usual?
By Taco Bell's labels, 11 g of fiber (8 g in the Burrito Supreme, 3 g in the Crunchy Taco) and 1,470 mg of sodium (1,160 mg plus 310 mg) for the food, our arithmetic. That is 39 percent of the FDA's 28 g Daily Value for fiber and 64 percent of the 2,300 mg Daily Value for sodium. Most of the fiber comes from the seasoned refried beans in the burrito, which are pinto beans. Sugars are 4 g for the food, 2 g of them added; a medium Pepsi adds 69 g of sugar and 50 mg of sodium, and a medium Pepsi Zero Sugar adds no calories.
What is Paris Hilton's Taco Bell order?
A Diablo Ranch Crispy Chicken Crunchwrap Slider, a Crunchy Taco and a medium fountain drink, $4 nationwide from October 20 to 26, 2026, with the $1 bundle for the first 10,000 Rewards members who claim it in the app from 2 p.m. Pacific on October 20. By Taco Bell's labels, read October 17 ahead of the drop, the slider is 320 calories, 3 g of fiber, 860 mg of sodium, 2 g of sugars and 16 g of protein; with the Crunchy Taco the food is 490 calories, 6 g of fiber, 1,170 mg of sodium, 2 g of sugars and 23 g of protein, our arithmetic, the lightest of the three usuals. The Diablo Ranch is a Hidden Valley Ranch buttermilk ranch whose ingredient statement lists red jalapeno peppers; Taco Bell publishes no heat figure for it.
What is Doja Cat's Taco Bell meal?
A Mexican Pizza and a Spicy Potato Soft Taco, with no drink in the bundle, $4 nationwide from October 27 to November 2, 2026, and $1 for the first 10,000 Rewards members who claim it in the app from 2 p.m. Pacific on October 27. Taco Bell's release says the Mexican Pizza anchors the order because of her part in bringing it back in 2022. By Taco Bell's labels, read October 17 ahead of the drop, the Mexican Pizza is 530 calories, 8 g of fiber and 1,000 mg of sodium and the Spicy Potato Soft Taco is 240 calories, 2 g of fiber and 470 mg of sodium, so the order is 770 calories, 10 g of fiber, 1,470 mg of sodium, 4 g of sugars, 38 g of fat and 24 g of protein, our arithmetic: the largest of the three by calories, and the same sodium as Kevin Hart's.
How do Taco Bell's $1 Tuesday Drops work?
According to Taco Bell's October 13, 2026 release, on each launch Tuesday (October 13 for Kevin Hart's usual, October 20 for Paris Hilton's, October 27 for Doja Cat's) the first 10,000 verified Taco Bell Rewards members who tap "Claim Reward" on the Tuesday Drops page of the app, starting at 2 p.m. Pacific, get that week's bundle for $1 plus tax. The reward appears under the app's Rewards tab within about 10 minutes and must be redeemed through the app at participating U.S. locations between 2 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. Pacific the same day, while supplies last. Each qualifying item has to be added to the cart, the limit is one per user, the offer cannot be combined with others, substitutions and add-ons may cost extra, and drinks exclude freezes and specialty beverages. The $4 price for each usual runs for its week at participating locations, through November 2.
Why does Taco Bell make you poop?
Three mechanisms in the published trials, none specific to Taco Bell. First, any large meal, and especially a fatty one, triggers the gastrocolonic response: the colon starts moving within minutes of food reaching the stomach and keeps at it for 30 to 120 minutes, per a 2026 review, and studies from 1979 and 1983 found fat to be the main stimulant. Second, beans: the refried pinto beans in a Burrito Supreme or Mexican Pizza carry sugars such as raffinose and stachyose that human enzymes cannot digest, so gut bacteria ferment them into gas; in three feeding studies published in 2011, fewer than half of adults reported more gas in the first week of eating half a cup of beans daily, and the share fell to a small minority by week four. Third, chili: in a 2007 trial, 5 g of chili a day for three days lowered the rectal pressure at which healthy volunteers felt urgency (18 mmHg versus 22 on placebo for the first sensation), while a 2002 study found 10 g of chili powder did not change small-bowel or colonic transit time. Capsaicin changes sensation more than speed. This is educational, not medical advice.
